Wicked Smart Storage

The Young Credenza

I'm really digging the earth tones of the Young Credenza by Kenneth Nilson, a Brooklyn, New York based designer.

The top surface is a sinlge solid slab of seamless walnut, 10 1/2 feet wide by 20 inches deep and 38 inches high and comprised of bronze patinaed steel and walnut.

Micro Casa

I'm always interested in experiencing space saving concepts in person and I'd really love to take a tour of this ultra-compact stairwell dwelling completed in France by H2O Architects back in June of 2007.

Originally designed and built for a lucky teenager, the 12 sqm. house comes complete with four split-levels and is truly an exercise in extreme storage solutions.

Awesome Tree Houses

Man, I wish we were spending the long weekend in something like this!

Now this is what I call a tree house. In fact, this concept would be the perfect guest room add-on in one of the huge trees on our friends Tish and Bryan's lot.

It's curved roof and large terrace makes for an inviting and impressive sight, especially with the interior lighting on.


baumraum specializes in the planning and realization of tree houses and other constructions in natural surroundings.

The Dias

Introducing the Dias, a nice little floating storage unit from FurnID out of Denmark.

According to the site, the Dias opens up sideways like a matchbox, dictating the positioning of other furnitures by claiming a central space on the wall. The drawer is covered with pyramids with the exception of a small flat tray-like surface. This has partly been in order to create strong contrasts caused by the highlights and shadows from the surface structure, but also to limit the tendency to place all sorts of knick-knack on the horizontal surface.

Very nice, I'll take mine in black por favor.

Organization With Style

I'm currently designing plans for the addition of a pantry and laundry room with a home office and storage space loft at our home.

I've always been attracted to the concept of "floating" storage and shelving and the way it allows more natural light into a space. This concept not only projects a sense of calm and organization, it's also a brilliant way to create the illusion of more space by keeping the floor visible in small spaces.

Muunto from Finland designs systems based on an innovative wall panelling technique that is completed with a range of shelf units and accessories. These storage systems do an awesome job of combining functionality and style and can easily be readjusted to suit your changing need or your new home décor.

And I'm totally digging the super clean look, combined with splashes of color.
